PAS staining can be used to assist in the diagnosis of several medical conditions such as glycogen storage disease, fungal infection, etc. Mayer"s hematoxylin can be used to counterstain the nuclei blue.PAS can also be used as counterstain for Luxol Fast Blue staining.
